$1999 for an M6
What level of photography are you guys and women doing? I am a former professional who has had his own business, shot newspaper general news and sports, portraits in my own studio and sold a few landscapes. I have used a number of digital and film bodies. I used to figure out my own fill flash with Vivitar 283s better than my Canons do today. I have had film 35mm, digital and MF for weddings. I had my own film darkroom and I have my digital darkroom. I have been doing this for a long time. I have had Sony NEX and now an M3 that has way too many options and bad and confusing UI. It makes very good pictures, however. I shoot large swim meets I use 10 fps for starts mostly. I have a 7DII which is entirely satisfactory. I don't how I ever got by with a 6MP D60. Ten FPS is fine. Who wants to process 30fps. Give me any decent current camera and I will be happy. I have had two EVFs. The Canon is 2.6 rate. They are not near as good as the OVF on the 7DII. I don't care how many fps a mirrorless has I won't use it for sports because of EVF limitations. I have used lots worse gear professionally than I have today quite successfully. My question is simply what level of photography requires all these bells and whitles and complicated operating systems that you all are so fussy and particular about?. I must be missing something.
