OK, so I own some regular 43rds lenses, and was hoping for a more decently priced flagship.

Or another model that supports PDAF.

Thanks Oly for leaving legacy users in the rain (I can't afford this amount of money, so I might as well switch systems).

That makes total sense. Can't afford to upgrade, but can afford a totally new system...

Perhaps the successor of the EM5 Mk2 it will have PDAF and solve your problem.

If you can't afford a "flagship" camera, buy an EM1 used. I'm sure they are great deals to be had, and it's a great camera for when you are out standing in the rain for no reason.
That made me laugh out loud! :)

Thanks for breaking up my monotony for the day!

So, I assume that the EM1.1 is totally unsuitable for your photography?

Mine is great, and I plan on taking advantage of the clearance prices to buy a second EM1 body.

I just read in a German review, that the AF speed of FT-lenses has proximately doubled with the E-M1.2

Save your money and spend it on lenses. I plan to get the PanaLeica 12-60 if it is as good or better and smaller than my 43 12-60. Added bonus: you don't need the flagship anymore.

Horth, can you provide a link to that article? Perhaps a Google translation?

Thanks!

So the previous generation's glass (well, several generations) is good enough for you, and it's super cheap nowadays... But the flagship camera one generation removed from the top is not good enough? The one whose overall IQ is unlikely to even give a full stop of improvement?

I admit, it would be cool if Oly could've added a lower level PDAF in the E-M5 II, but that seems like quibbling.

If in fact this is true I would go rob a bank to buy this wonderful $2000.00 camera. With my SHG lenses With twice the speed I would be on top of the world but hopefully not in jail :-)

"Erster Eindruck: Wo die E-M1 mit Fts noch laut pumpt, macht die E-M1II Ssst - passt. Gefühlt bei meinen Motiven doppelt so schnell und vor allem wesentlich exakter."

translation: 'First impression: Where the E-M1 with FTs still pumps, the E-M1mk2 makes Ssst. It feels - with my motives - like the speed has doubled and is above all more precice.'

This guy is currently in Spain with Olympus, so its first hand experience.

Hmmmm. great if its true, but I'm dubious. Certainly with things like the 50/2.0 macro and the 50-200. I'd wager that those lenses are speed limited by the internal motors. I can't see how the camera body itself would have any significant impact.
