Off camera flash with EOS-M cameras?

I'm currently looking at changing up which cameras I use a bit (currently have a fuji X100S for travel and GH3 for more "serious" work) and want something that ideally replaces both of them.

I've been eyeing up the new M5 and having an M3 as a cheap second body and have been wondering about the flash system. I'd like to be able to trigger external flashes by simply using the on camera flash, ideally with HSS, TTL, all the good stuff.

From what I can gather this is possible with these Canon cameras but want to check. Does it come with any caveats? Which external flashes are compatible?

Thanks for any help you can give.

ANSWER:
Canon EOS M3 Fujifilm X100S Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH3
