photo pro 5.5 problem - whole picture goes red if 'show warnings' selected

I use photo pro 5.5 for my sd14 files.

(I'd use 6, but for some reason the tiffs it creates won't open in ACDSEE, which I use for fine adjustment.)

Until tonight, I'd been managing fine; however, when I opened a file tonight and clicked 'show warnings' in the guide box, the entire file went bright red (ie no  part of the image visible).

This does not happen when I open the same file in SPP6 - which seems to rule out a graphics card issue.

It affects all files, including previously  processed ones (ie processed before the problem arose) and files where there are no blown highlights at all.

I've never found the warning feature terribly good - because of it's unsubtle 'all or nothing' operation - but it's a lot better than what's happening now.

I've done a complete re-install of 5.5, but to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas?
