Fujifilm x100s Hammering sound on recorded video

I've had my x100s for about 3 years now (bought new) and have never used the video function. However I was recently asked if I could record a basic interview.

The camera functioned as expected. With no mechanical noise while recording. However on reviewing the footage there is a constant hammering noise on the soundtrack throughout. Similar to this:

However on my footage the noise seems considerably louder, completely drowning out the interviewees voice.

Since then I've tried various different fixes. Reducing microphone levels, turning on/off various settings etc. Nothing makes any difference.

Strange thing is I cant find any reference to this other than the seemingly unresolved youtube video linked above. I can find forum posts about mechanical noise made by the camera when using EVF but I know this is not the same issue.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this or how to fix it?

Cheers,

Freggio
