To David Lal: I gues I am trying to justified not buying it

To Kris in CT: That will be the way to calm the itch

To jkjond: I knew the analogy was a bad one, I was going to say “race car” but wanted to stress a point. The many menu options and advances of the D500

To photogramps: But the thing is that I really like it

Photography requires, among others, time, location, subject, good eye and a machine to capture the image. Down deep I know I need more of the first four before the fifth but as everybody else I love the machines and I wanted to know others experience.

I have taken pictures with many cameras and since the bottleneck of darkroom was surpassed I print very few photos. Looking at my present photos and those from friends in a computer screen does not show very big differences among modern cameras. The advances in sensors I think is reaching diminishing returns so, for me, the single reason to change camera now is personal satisfaction. Like all of you I suppose, I love to be at the top of technology but the question I ask myself is:

Is it wise and justifiable to let go of an old friend and relearn menus again?

Happiness is a warm D500
