Lens Turbo II Canon FD pin fix

There is a lot of people sharing bad experiences with the Zhongyi Lens Turbo II and Canon FD Lenses:

Mains problems are : Lenses with big breech locks that doesn't allow them to sit flat on the adapter, the only (reasonable) solution seems to be shaving the breech pin a little.

And the there is the Apertur problem, because the adapter has a vertical pin (instead of cheap adapters with no glass that have horizontal ones) many lenses misses the pin and won't allow you to change your aperture on your beloved FD Lens : some are saying that the pin need to be bent but it frightened me so I started looking for another solution, and i found a quick, safe for both the adapter and the lens one !

You'll need a used pen or any plastic/rubber tube quite small; glue; your sharpest knife; and a little piece of sandpaper :

Cut the pen to about the height of the pin

Dissassemble the pen to keep only the little plastic tube you want (I chose a yellow one to match the yellow dot on the Lens Turbo II

Then grind the piece you've just obtained :

In order to have a horizontal and smooth cut at the end of the tube :

You'll need a tiny piece of Blu-Tack / Patafix (or equivalent in your country) you'll put in the tube to test your lenses :

Put the tube around the vertical pin of the adapter, normally, the Patafix/ Blu-tack should be strong enough to let you try your aperture without the operation to be definitive.

If it works, you're all good ! Just remove the Blu-Stak/ Patafix of the tube, use a tiny stick or the tip of the pen you just dissassembled to get glue in the tube, then fix it on the pin (beware of any glu on the lens of your Lens Turbo II !) and wait !

My definitively glued "yellow pin fix "

You're now able to use your lens turbo with the desired aperture !

Now able to control my FD 50mm 1.4 aperture again ! (the DOF at 1.01 with the lens turbo was kind of hard to manage)

Hope I helped !
