Re: Panasonic GX8 and G7 lens options on a budget.

The Olympus 45mm 1.8 is great. I got a used one from Wex for £109: http://www.wexphotographic.com/other-used-lenses/b3245

For the same price you can get the 35-100mm f4-5.6 Panasonic new on eBay separated from a kit. This is the best cheap daytime general use lens.

For the same price you can get the 12-32mm f3.5-5.6 on eBay new. Great for daytime indoors and social occasions or landscapes.

So that is about £330 and you said £0-200 each for 2 lenses, so I say get all 3 for a nice solid full collection:

12mm is as wide as you need and 100mm is as long as you will probably need for zooming in. Then the 45mm is great or portraits with bokeh backgrounds and night photos.

They are all very small and lightweight which is an extra bonus. Plus all very consistent so you dont need to worry about stopping down to get sharper or avoiding certain focal lengths.

Edit: the kit with the 12-60mm above does sound great value (although the G7 might have a cashback deal again soon and might go for around £300 body only).  But that range of 12-60 sounds great to me; wide enough and just enough telephoto reach for now. Then after a month you will know what the 2nd lens should be- might want a 20 or 25mm prime, or something like the 45mm, or longer? The only slight reservation is that the 12-60 doesnt get as good reviews as the above 3. Like someone above said- practically all M43 lenses are good though. I was hoping to get that lens but it is not quite good enough (reports of soft edges, sounds like it needs to be stopped down a bit).
