I've had my Canon T2i for several years now and its been working great. Recently, I dropped the camera accidentally onto a hard rock and I thought it had escaped unscathed, but unfortunately I've been noticing issues with the camera's automatic zoom/focus - many photos come out blurred.

There is no automatic zoom.

So, I detached the lens and in there I found this loose part dangling.

"Dangling", as in hanging within the mirror box? Or just in there loose? I don't recognize the part.  Maybe take another shot of it showing the other side and with something next to it to judge its size.  Also a shot of the inside of the mirror box of the camera, there is probably an open slot left vacant by this part.

Wild guess is it's the autofocus sensor that is normally in the bottom of the mirror box. You may be able to plug it back into place, but might take a professional repair to assure it's working and properly aligned.
