Nice work Vic. I had the same conversion and have been using it as is for colour IR or with 830 filters for mono. I have just ordered an R72 for my main IR lens to see if I prefer it. I think your colour shots are working better than mine. If I like it I'll get a bigger filter for my 14mm. I could have got a bigger one anyway but I hate step-up rings, and if I leave the filter on the cap wouldn't fit unless I got a bigger one of those too.

Thanks Andy. Are you sure the cap won't fit on the filter? I went out with 3 lenses14, 23, 35, filters on each and original lens caps.

I mean if I use a step ring and a bigger filter I'd also need a bigger lens cap to leave it on the lens. Anyway, I don't like messing with step rings so I'll get another filter instead if I want to.

I don't bother with 850 now. If I have an R72 on that does quite a good job as you can see from the one B&W image above. I still take it to try and see if it improves B&W but it hasn't yet. I process for B&W in Silver FX.

I tend to use an 830 filter but have not directly compared shots converted to mono from colour and shot with the filter yet. Are you just as happy with your R72 shots converted to mono? That would have the big advantage of not having to shoot separate shots for each, and with carrying fewer filters. I can try it for myself when my filter arrives, and I will of course, but I'm happy to hear your opinion if you have already done it.

I'm actually wishing I just had the camera converted to R72 now because I can't put a filter on my fisheye lens. Oh well.
