Re: Why would you not buy EOS M5?

MOst definitely the price of this thing is the main obstacle for me!
I kind of pre-ordered it from Amazon UK and then went back to their main page and looked at the M3 with EVF-DC1 and that came down to almost half the price of the M5...
I got hold of my senses and canceled that (pre) order and ordered the M3 with EVF (which was not available until October).
I then, just for fun, took a long look at the SL1 (100D) and realized that was even less than half the price of the M3 set...
SO, in the end I ended up ordering the SL1 (same sensor as my trusty M2 (?) OVF, better handling and way better AF, especially with my newly acquired EF-S 10-18mm and EF-S 55-250mm!)!
Saved myself GBP 900 in the process which, I am sure, will find a good cause to be spend on in the (near) future.
Talking about evolving backwards
I wonder if there are others like me (i.e. not too much of a GAS sufferer) who enjoy their M and M2 but really longed for that viewfinder (OVF or EVF) option integrated and thought the M5 was the answer to their dreams...BUT, after a moment of deep reflexion, realized that this camera is seriously over-prized and really not worth THAT much money!!
In the end, I for one, am happy I could overcome my GAS reflex and make a choice based on MY current needs...
Disclaimer: I clearly stressed that I am talking about my photographical needs, not anybody else's on here, so if you think the M5 is worth spending that much dough on, you have every right of course!!!
M series has the advantage of being able to adapt almost any lens onto it. I have a few M42 lenses I enjoy using. Also, if you have the 10-18mm and 24mm EF-S lenses, the M series seems less appealing.
The only EF/EF-S lenses I have are the 50mm 1.8, 100mm L macro, and the 55-250mm. I find that fills out any lens space I am missing with the M series (I'm not a big fast-zoom person, but I'd probably pick one up if Canon released an EF-M version). I could have probably gone with the 55-200mm EF-M lens, but I already had the 55-250mm when it was released, and I don't see a reason to change.
