You do realize that dark city scenes with bright lights can DR stress any system.

You could try (multishot) HDR that that could give strange results with moving cars. I assume your camera has that built-in mode ... I know my FZ-1000 has a auto 3-shot HDR.

it was a bracketed couple of shots, i think 5. i'll try to do as suggested and bring the highs down and up the lows.

but if you look at the trail-end of some of the car lights, there is blank space. and the street lights look glazed, i don't know a good way of describing them. they don't look any better when saved as a TiFF.

the reason i say i'll try to lower, and raise the curves is, i got it as an open box from best buy... no manual. Sony has it on there website, i think, so when i get a chance i'll download it.
