Canon will release a full frame mirrorless with a short flange distance and a simple extension tube to allow EF lenses to be used to their full potential.

A new line of EF lenses will be released to take advantage of the short flange distance.

Yes this is a likely path they will take. As an EF lens owner ( I assume you are) how might you react to this

Would you: be happy to use an adapter; buy the new lenses , or keep on shooting with your DSLR?

No I'm not doing a market survey for Canon, but I am curious to know how established EF owners might react to change. I suspect that many view their lens system as "EF everlasting", but I somehow doubt that Canon shares this view.

If Canon succeeds in creating an EVF that's at least (almost) as good as the OVF in my 1Ds II, I will be happy to switch to a mirrorless body and use a simple adapter to use my EF lenses. (Assuming those lenses will work just as fine as on the 1Ds)

Then it will be very interesting to see if the shorter flange distance will indeed lead to better and/or cheaper lenses.
