I'm not sure, but I think the Merrill image is more saturated than the Q. For example, brighter yellow flowers, and the wooden door.... And the Merrill may (for now) take SPP sharpening "better" than the Q image. And this texture thing is what the Merrills do best.

Both images are very sharp, although, again, the Q seems to not capture people.

In the Q crop someone has just entered the building and can be seen through the closed glass door.  I was going to say that the firmware in the Q is very good and it effectively eliminates people from my landscapes, but even the best firmware has its little problems.

As for saturation, I was not able to control it very well, and looked to establish a general correlation between the two crops.

The Merrill is much better balanced in terms of color than is the SD Quattro at this stage, and I think this accounts for the better greens and yellows.  I tried rebalancing the Quattro crop to increase greens in the mid-brightness range (a slider adjustment in Photoshop Elements 13) but that simple change did not fix it.

We are actually comparing two different image processing methods and two different sets of hardware and firmware, as well as two different sensors.  I agree there is a lot of room for improvement in the Quattro color balance, as used in the SD Quattro.

I think the color balance in my DP0Q is very nearly perfect though.
