I don't think anyone forgot.  My point was that the 60mm lens focuses fast enough for my uses just as it is, ie despite being a macro lens.  And portraits hardly require fast AF anyway - they're relatively straightforward in the sense of AF.  Its AF would be too slow for more demanding uses like sports and sports tracking.  That's partly because its AF is first generation and partly because being a macro, if it doesn't lock, the time it takes to hunt through the range is indeed much longer than a non-macro lens. If sports and other subjects that require tracking are one's usual fare, it would probably be better to look elsewhere.
