Why do you expect Canon to do FF Mirrorless with an EF adapter ?

If EF is their mainstream format why not put an EF mount on the FF Mirrorless?

That is a distinct possibility too, if they decide to go for a 'bulky' format with the same flange distance.

I personally do prefer the bulkier, hand-filling DSLR. But frankly, If I get the bulk, I'd rather it be a DSLR.

My personal 'dream device' would be a DSLR like the current 7D Mk2, but with a hybrid viewfinder that is optical while mirror is down, and becomes a full fledged EVF when live view is engaged. Oh, and an articulated screen like on the 80D.

I like the idea of a hybrid viewfinder. Has any manufacturer tried to implement such a thing?

Not really, but things appear to be moving that way.   Recent DSLRs like 7D2 and 1Dx2 have a lot more stuff projected in their OVF .     The only real question is whether DSLR manufacturers consider the feature worth the investment.   One one hand, most people buying a DSLR today prefer the OVF - otherwise, they would likely move to mirrorless.

On the other hand, market offers plenty of add-ons that essentially add an EVF to a DSLR - from the cheaper 'hood loupe' option that places a hood with lens and eye cup over camera's rear LCD, and the more expensive HDMI-driven add-on EVFs, such as those from Zacuto - so the demand is there.
