ETTR Metering Mode!
1

Now that the season is nice an sunny, I started thinking about burnt out high lights.

1. Sony provides adjustable "Zebras" even in compact cameras, why do we have to wait, until the after the shot to see the blinkies, and even then the blinking areas are probably taken from the embedded JPGs and might or might not present a problem for RAW processing.

2. If Zebras are possible, an ETTR mode for RAW shooters should present no technical problem. Of course, FF cameras have an advantage here, since they have a much higher exposure latitude, but shadow noise is better than burnt out highlights.

And now I just happended to stumble on an article, where this is suggested for a Nikon D820: https://photographylife.com/nikon-d820-wishlist
