Relation of in-camera "grayscale" filter and output video file quality / compression (Olympus E-M)

Hi,

I know you'll just tell me to get a GH4, but anyway :

I have an Olympus E-M10II, and need to take some black and white footage. Because of the relatively low video bit rate of the produced files (and other factors of course) the video quality leaves a lot to be desired due to compression. Under my assumption that grayscale video requires less data for the same length, do you think using the in camera "black and white" filter would produce better quality files than those taken in full-color and converted to black and white in post?

In this case I would rather lose the ability to convert to b&w myself but have less deterioration due to compression.

In a few tests, It seems to me that this might be the case, but I could also be going nuts. Thanks.
