(A)perture priority mode with manual lenses

Hi all,

Can someone tell me why next pictures are looking darker when stopping down?. All of them were shot using an XE2 and an old manual prime (Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AI). The camera was set on Aperture Priority mode (A), Manual focus, ISO 200 (NOT AutoISO). The only parameter I changed from one picture to another was f number using the lens aperture ring (the aperture value is not included in the EXIF data, but I detail it on each image footer).

Why is this happening? I would expect the XE2 to change the shutter speed in order to get three pictures with exactly the same exposure, instead of looking darker and darker...

f2.8

f8

f22

Thanks for your help.

PS: I have asked this in an old thread but apparently it has gone unnoticed, so I decided to ask again in a new one. Sorry if you find it repetitive.
