Re: Pentax K-70 studio test scene

I only use dpreview's studio scene comparison for looking at noise.  If you are looking at sharpness of the RAWs, you are more comparing the lens it was tested with not the camera.  Many people have pointed out and I think even dpreview themselves have stated that the lens used for the studio scene on Pentax cameras is decentered.

Hi, I am not an experienced photographer, using so far point and shoot cameras, but thinking of eventually graduating to DSLR club. Have been following Pentax for a some time and K-70 caught my attention since I have already looked at K-50 and K-S2 in the past. I would like to end up with reasonably priced weatherproof hardware and decent image quality and Pentax seemed so far an answer to it. I am wondering of other's opinion of studio test results and comparison to other cameras. The results , in my humble opinion to, let's say, Canon Ti6 or Nikon 5500, are very poor in terms of resolution and color rendering. It almost looks as K-50 produced better results despite obvious technological disadvantages...Is it possible that K-70 tests, since camera is brand new, were not done at the best camera set up?
