Nature and gardens with K-3 and Pentax 16-85 lens

I did notice on a couple of your images, the 16-50 lens looks like it has an issue with purple fringing? Have you noticed it in other images you have shot? The two images I see it in there was high contrast behind the tree limbs.

Thanks for the comment. First, a minor correction: this is the 16-85 lens, not a 16-50. Regarding purple fringing, I don't see it in these photos but your eyes may be better than mine. I believe that I did see purple fringing in a photo that I took some time ago, so it is possible that the lens has an occasional issue with purple fringing.

Unfortunately you have pretty bad purple fringing and it really shows up in photos 3, 8, 10, 12 and 16. You can do a lot with it in post processing but I think in those photos it is probably beyond repair.

From a composition standpoint, when your subject is a group of trees, nothing really catches your eye. Maybe a pretty flower or rock formation in the foreground, with trees in the background. Or if you have a road leading into the forest, try getting a few inches off the ground.

Thanks for the suggestions. Now that you mention specific photos, I do see a purple tint in 3 and 10, where the leaves and the sky are visible next to each other.

I agree that there's no central focus to some of the photos. I was interested in capturing the ambiance rather than a central object. I really struggled with 10 and 17. I couldn't seem to get an angle that I liked on either of those. I like how some of the others came out, particularly 2, 6, 20, 22, and 24.
