NX500 long exposure
1

Hi all,

I'm starting to make some shots in long exposure, and I am trying to find the correct procedure with my NX500.

By now this is what i do:

  1. Set the camera in aperture priority mode (A);
  2. Set aperture (e.g. f/8) and a low ISO value (e.g. 100);
  3. Set a focus point with touchscreen and half press shutter button;
  4. Take note of the exposure time (e.g. 1/20 sec);
  5. Lock the focus with AEL button;
  6. Apply a 3-stop ND filter;
  7. Set the camera to manual (M);
  8. Set exposure time multiplying the 1000 * (1/20) = 50 sec
  9. Shot

This is a first try:

ISO 100 16mm f/5,6 30,0 sec

One of the first problem is that sometimes with the filter applied (9) the focus doesn't work (showing a red square if I remember well) and the camera doesn't shot. How do I solve this?

Secondly, the camera provide some fixed exposure times, e.g. 15,30, ... It's possible to set a custom time?

Thank you for your help, I'm a beginner
