I picked up one of these earlier in the summer, hadn't had lots of time to try it with my X-Pro2 earlier and now I've used it I'm very impressed. The resolution across the frame is a match for the Oly 12-40mm and is visibly better than the 18-55mm on the Xpro2 (though query if you would notice the difference on the 16mp sensor). Yes, it's entirely fair to note the lens is less proficient in the corners at wider apertures at the wide end, but that's like describing almost every normal zoom ever made. The lens is built like a tank (which has it's up and downsides) - I must admit I always use it with the camera fitted with the optional grip.

What's really impressive though is how well the lens works with the camera in continuous AF. I had been impressed with my existing lenses in CAF when I first reviewed the X-Pro2, but the 16-55mm is extremely proficient with moving subjects. I guess if you had to be critical you would say the lens suffers from distortion at 16mm, but that somewhat ignores the fact that equivalent lenses for other systems are similar in that regard.

I wouldn't use it for every purpose (it's still big and heavier), but this is an impressive lens, no doubt.
