The Olympus is no way worth £1000 more than the Nikon, it won't outperform it in any way shape or form.

Personally I don't think the difference in IQ of the Olympus, Panasonic, or Nikon lenses is that important, but if you read the reviews of the Nikon 300mm f4 vs the Olympus 300mm f4 by Imaging Resource, Ephotozine, and Lenstip, the Olympus does appear to be a somewhat better lens.

The difference between Excellent and Outstanding or between not Tack Sharp and Fantastically Sharp - tack sharp across the frame. The Olympus should be a better lens, it is heavier and more expensive.

However, I doubt that you would really be able to see much difference in most situations, especially since the Nikon would have the advantage of a better sensor.

Id agree with that the price has a far bigger difference than any iq differences
