K5iiS + DA16-85mm Amtrak Cascades Train
5

The Amtrak Cascade Train goes up and down the I5 corridor from Vancouver, BC to Eugene, OR and is quite scenic. These are from a recent trip down and back from Bellingham to Vancouver, WA. (across the river from Portland, OR)

While not the best, shooting through train windows, the scenery required it.

Was pleasantly surprised with this lens as I have not had it long. It replaces my older 24-90mm which was optically sharp but not the best construction. The DA 16-85mm is slow, but the AF is decent in brighter light (not very good in dim light) with the K5iiS and the lens is sharp with good colors. Easy to handle and well made. I think I'll keep it.

Enjoy.

Chuckanut Bay in the AM.

Haliaeetus leucocephalus: As far as I can tell it simply likes to fly along with the human's moving machine.

Tacoma Narrows Bridge: Its come a long ways since the Galloping Gertie days.

Cape Horn (built on a basalt rock face). Looking upriver of the Columbia River Gorge. (9 pano shot)

Pterospora andromedea: aka Pinedrops. As with the 24-90 close-ups are best shot at full tele zoom.

Central Cascades just north of Mt. St. Helens

near Stanwood

Skagit Flats with sunset behind Lummi Island.

Samish Bay

Chuckanut Bay

Best seen at Original Size.
