Rainforest walk with the 28mm
Aug 1, 2016

Hi all,
I finally had a chance to spend some time with the 28mm lens over the weekend. Taking a walk through the Victorian Otways national park to Triplet falls I was determined to keep this lens on my M3 for as many shots as possible. I am in the habit of quickly changing lens, especially between the 11-22mm and the 55-200mm when I am out doing these sorts of activities, so it was a very interesting exercise sticking to the one lens. I haven't had much experience sticking to a prime so it was definitely a learning experience, I even left the 18-50mm at home. I actually didn't get many chances to shoot anything in macro, and what I did try didn't turn out well as it was rather windy. The lighting throughout the area was a challenge too. All in all I am extremely happy with how this lens performs, both as a macro and general use lens. Have a look!
Rather strange blue gooey mushrooms

Amazed with the colors, completely untouched shot
Also completely untouched.

I have no idea what this is, some strange fungus on a tree stump.

Lucked out that the focal length was perfect from the viewing platform. Between the volume of water and the shade of the forest no filters were needed.
Top of the falls.
Fun hopping off the trail to get something less seen.

Signs of the old logging days.
Challenging working with a prime on this.
