Who Chose the 300 f4 over the 100-400 for Birding and Why?

would of thought 300mm f4 would always have advantages not sure about 420 5.6 with t/c ,the combined image stabilizing should be worth its weight in some instances ,but I bet a canon 400mm 5.6 which has renowned sharpness with a  adaptor would still be a bargain compared to either the Panasonic or Olympus considering I have seen the canon priced way cheaper ,but no is in the lens and it does not look as nice is a down side

If I had the money I would buy Olympus the Panasonic is the next best for bif etc
