Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand what this comparison was all about? Didn't we know all of this information already in some iterative form?

crack on....

Just another open discussion on two popular cameras and some thoughts on their handling/functionality. I believe it went well considering the responses, feedback, and comparisons to other cameras/systems like the Panasonic GX7/8

Yep. Please continue to post reasonable original posts and responses. Esspecially good that you've done this in the face of a fair amount of prickliness from some (but not all) responders...

Thanks for the feedback. There is a fair bit of negativity on this board but I just choose to confront it as positively as possible. I can understand others frustration by photographers like myself that spend so much time buying, selling, and comparing gear, critical IQ, etc. instead of simply going out and shooting with what we have. I simply enjoy the technical side of photography just as much, if not more than the "photography" side. It may be because I have an IT background. I love new gear, new functions, assessing sensor improvements, post processing, etc. That doesn't mean that I don't love taking photographs (I do and shoot fairly often). I just appreciate "both sides of the aisle".

I didn't perceive my response as prickly or negative. Just a question about the validity of such a comparison (3 year old EM1 vs year old Sony with larger sensor). We can disagree without calling out someone's response as negative or prickly.

The 24Mpx SONY is a 2013 sensor, you are still talking about the 42.5Mpx A7r II?
