Re: D700 "Hot Shoe" issue with sb900? What is the "current" solution?

hi ,   i realise this is an old thread but if there is anyone still using their D700  here is a fix .i have a D700 with this problem . It is not consistent and i have tried several things to fix it including squeezing the shoe with grips which worked for a while. But i now have what i believe is a perfect 100% fix, simply connect a cable between the camera and the flash! This can be any cable , i have a Shanny sn600sn and i use the multiconnector to mini jack on this , on my sb800 i use a pc chord to pc cord . The flash will still work in ttl mode whichever cable is used. I tried this as every thing i read said it was an earthing problem , so i simply used a cable to earth the flash to the camera !
