Considering Ditching Pentax for Canon

About a year ago I bought a Pentax KS-2 camera.  At the time it offered more features for the price than any other brand, and I really liked the weather proofing and controls layout.

I've used it for about a year now, and I'm really displeased with how the camera's video performance (I knew it wasn't good to start but didn't realize how bad it is), and ability to focus.

In great light shooting landscapes its fine.  Trying to focus on moving kids (which are usually what I'm photographing) its horrible.

Recently I've been watching Canon's refurbished store and for the price I'm really interested in the older small sized SL1 and the more feature full T6I (relatively similar features to the KS-2).  Another appeal of Canon is the availability and affordability of use lenses.

Anyways, what are the general thoughts of this move and ditching my Pentax KS-2 and lenses (Kit 18-50mm, 50-300mm, and 50mm) and moving over to either an SL1 or T6i?
