some more from the mangrove rock pool, Darwin NT
9

Have been playing with the sd14 for about two months now and am growing accustomed to its quirks and limitations.  I am still surprised at the results the 70-300 zoom is capable of, especially toward the shorter end (tending to use it more than the 17-70).

These are three more takes on the mangrove tree that featured in a panorama I posted a week or so ago.  The spot (one of my favourite photographic haunts) is in a reasonably central Darwin suburb. It is only 300m or so from a quite busy road, but is a little hard to get to, so I rarely run into anyone there.  Because the tree is growing in a rock pool with a sandy bottom, the pneumatophores are unusually clean, which reveals their extraordinary colouration (and vaguely human shapes).
