In Olympus cameras, when you set to EVF only mode, the back LCD screen turns off. But when you press the image review button, the LCD turns back on and you can review them on the bigger screen.

Is this possible on Panasonic cameras? I have the GX85 and owned a GX7 and GM5 in the past, but there doesn't seem to be a setting for this (and it's annoying as hell!!)

Thanks in advance...

I always have the LCD on my GM5 showing the settings overview and the EVF on auto, but I've just tried this because I'm bored waiting for a slight and had my GM5 in my bag.

Set EVF mode to Auto Detect. Using the Display button, cycle through the various options until the rear LCD is off.

If you take a photo and keep you eye to the EVF with auto review enabled, you see the photo you just took in the EVF for the auto review period selected and the LCD stays dark.

If you take a photo and take the camera away from your face during the auto review period, that photo will briefly appear on the LCD. When the auto review period ends, the LCD shows the live preview for a second or so (depending on LCD power saving/economy settings I'm guessing) and then goes dark.

Pressing the Play button shows your photos on the LCD if the camera is away from your face.

With Auto Review disabled, the LCD stays dark until you press the Play button,
