Re: I want tack sharp images, Canon 17-50 or15-85?

I have both the 15-85 and the Sigma 17-50 on a Canon 70D

They are both used for very different purposes!

The 15-85 is an awesome travel lens.  You don't need anything else.

I usually travel with 15-85 and a Sigma 30 f1.4 for indoor and low light.  Perfect travel combo!  I also have a 55-250 STM and a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 and I rarely bring them for travel.  They never really get used enough to justify carrying them.

The 17-50 is a great indoor lens.  f2.8 and the range is perfect for indoor use.

I use it for events, parties, get together's etc..etc..

If I were to say which is "sharper" I think the Sigma 17-50 is sometimes sharper in the center but the 15-85 is sharper outside the center.

Out of all my lenses I actually think the Tamron 70-200 is the sharpest.
