Autofocus test of my 18-200 on SD1
1

Had some doubts about the autofocus of my 18-200mm C - my walk around lens

so I did a test with this packaging cardboard and was surprised

setup: lens at 200mm, autofocus, OS off, exposure -1, all the rest is auto, no fancy editing

packaging is 6 inches wide - approx 153mm - packaging at about 18 feet from the camera, so about 27 times 200mm  (in fact probably a little more than 18 feet)

I was surprised to be able to read the smallest type face which are apparently less than 1mm high (very fine and light printing at the bottom of the card  - with the Copyright).

Since I was dreaming about a SD Q-H, I now Wonder how much Mpx is enough.  A better lens would be better but by how much ?

Would like to see this kind of test with a 24-105mm Art - 27 times the focal lenght would mean about 9.3 feet from the card
