I also looked at how the purple fringing changes at different apertures along the rooftops or contrasty edges like that white lorry/truck on the highway 35mm shot that osv/Dan posted, and I noticed that the TV-radio tower airplane warning-fog lights (or whatever they are called) give an indication about coma performance if they light up during the exposure (although it's not evindent in the pictures i uploaded it was visible on other shots, the FE55 seems to handle coma pretty well )
From what I could see all corners of my lenses were similar with regards to fringing/smear, but I am not sure if uneven purple fringing would indicate any other lens problem that the actual fringing itself ..
