Hello,

I was looking for a semi-hard case, i.e. something better than eva shell which is really not "hard", despite what they say in sales blurbs, but less extreme (size, weight are a factor) than a pelican-style case. However, I have not been able to find anything that fits the bill, so so now I'm looking for ANY decent case that offers SOME bump protection and I'd be grateful for any recommendations from happy (or happy-ish) owners.

I'm going on a holiday, nothing extreme (other than kayaking, relatively extreme, given water around), I"d like to keep the camera around me, in some sort of compact-ish bag. Ah, yes, I did prefer a bag that'd be large enough to accommdate 50-150 fixed on the camera body, but this is probably unrealistic too, so I'd be grateful for any... inspiration on safe storage for a 50-150 lens. Carboard tube with padding is one option, but something more... robust and water-resistant perhaps? There are tubes made of hard plastic, but hard to come by, unless you want 100 ft (I only need about 5 inches

n.

Looking for that myself, with the kit lens. Got a Case Logic Compact Case TBC404K which is rather solid but too large with the kit lens, maybe too small for the 50-150. Using Lowepro Dashpoint 20 which is just a little bit small for the kit lens, and not as padded as the Case Logic, but think it's ok. You have to use a little force to get the camera in, but the zipper has not been damaged yet. Trying to find a way to stretch it a little bit. Can't find a Dashpoint 25, and the 30 too large.
