If your choice is a PL7 or a PL6, you should keep in mind that the shutter shock issue is addressed in the PL7 with the 0 second anti-shock setting, which I don't think is available in the PL6.

True. The E-PL5/6 (basically the same camera) do not have 0 second anti-shock, and that is needed to help avoid shutter shock problems that can happen in the maybe 1/30 to 1/320 sec range.

Also possibly more importantly the E-PL5/6 use the old 2 axis IBIS, the E-PL7 3 axis IBIS is way better. Also features like the next generation image processing chip (TruePic VII) that allow neat features like Live Composite on the E-PL7 make that a more interesting camera to use. The E-PL7 is worth the difference.

The PL7 also has WIFI and a much higher resolution screen. I don't really care about image transfer via WIFI, but I do like being able to use my cell phone as a remote control for the camera and being able to pick a focus point on my phone screen. The PL7 also has focus peaking.

Yes, WiFi with a tablet or with phone adds some new ways to use the camera. There is also a free Windows program to do WiFi control. https://rebs.biz/cc/en/index.html

As for image quality, all the 16MP Pens and OM-D are much the same with the advantage that the later TruePic VII image chip of the E-PL7 does do better with available lens corrections and adds CA correction to the mix.
