If you only want higher definition with APS-C lenses the K-3 II should be the answer, but if you want the better AF and DR from Pentax, you'll get it from the K-1. Coming from K-5 and K-3, it's really amazing for me in ISO, DR, AF and usability.

I hope that someone with K-1 and K-3 II experience will provide a better comparison.

I have both the K-3II and K-1.

In pretty well every respect, the K-1 is better. The K-3II has the edge in frames-per-second, but in practice, where AF is required, the K-1 in Crop mode is nearly as good.

My K-3II has become a back-up camera in case my K-1 breaks.
