Suit yourself

If you're only shooting JPGs, then in-camera corrections for Peripheral Illumination, Chromatic Aberration, and Distortion will marginally improve your images and save you a lot of time and effort.

The downsides are given in the instruction manual (pp. 150-153).  The corrections aren't quite as good as can be done in postprocessing of a RAW file in DPP (or other software), and the extra processing slows the camera down.  Distortion correction also tends to very slightly crop/enlarge the image with a (perhaps imperceptible) loss of resolution.
