I just bought a Canon 760D with an EFS 18-135 mm lens with Auto Focus and Stabilizer. My last camera was a Konica T3 ! :)) I have noticed a significant shutter delay in the 760D. Can you explain the best way to set the camera for best daylight action shots and for instant shutter response? I don't need a lot of detail, just a few points to give me a clue. I will figure it out from that. Thank you.

Use the Sports scene mode and shoot through the viewfinder - if you still get a shutter delay in good light then something is wrong and I'd suggest you post a jpeg on here (straight out of the camera with all the metadata attached) to get better advice.

To absolutely minimize shutter delay you might half press on the shutter button while setting up your shot so that the focus is already close to being correct.

As you get more familiar with the camera you can start to make your own decisions on shutter speed, aperture and ISO (and all the other settings) but at least you've got a starting point (and no shutter delay).
