I've just come across to m43 recently, attracted by the excellent EVFs and light weight bodies and lenses. When I found some Australian retailers were going as low as $1575 for the Olympus E-M1 / 12-40mm combination, that was the kit I chose. But when I tried the Olympus 12-40, I had an immediate two-fold impression, namely, 1. "What a superbly-built lens! What a useful focal length range!" and 2. "This lens is bulk/weight of this lens means I'm unlikely to take it places." I kept hoping that my second impression would change, but it hasn't. So I spent an extended session trying out the Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8 in the camera store, and it felt much more balanced on the camera for me. So I've bought the Panasonic 12-35mm, and will basically offset that purchase by selling the Olympus 12-40mm. Yes, some m43 users will think, "What did you do that for?!?" But for some other m43 users like myself, the weight factor is the crucial decider. Right weight = camera comes with me. Too heavy = camera is regretfully left at home too often.

I wonder if many others have had a similar experience?
