GX7 (or 8) white balance issues, outdoors in changing light.

I recently bought a GX7 and like much about it, but although the colours seem better than the GH2 I once had (as has often been said), I find that when photographing landscapes in the North of England, where greens and browns predominate, I'm having to adjust the white balance quite often in changing light.  I would be interested to hear whether the GX8 (or 80/85) AWB is any better at coping with these kinds of conditions?  I realise you can set two custom white balance options, which helps, but am used to other cameras' AWB coping with more variety of light.

The problem is compounded because I prefer to move the focus point using the direction pad for landscape work, but this turns out to be a cumbersome process.  I don't remember any of the reviews I read warning me that you have to dive into the menu,  find and turn off 'direct focus area', then press the WB button, adjust the WB, and go back into the menu to turn 'direct focus area' back on, before taking the picture.  Yesterday evening I found I needed to do this repeatedly while trying to get the colours right.  I also wonder, therefore, whether more recent GX cameras have a way of letting you do change WB more quickly when not using the touchscreen to move the focus point?

I'm still grappling with this aspect of the GX7, and haven't reached a firm conclusion, but at the moment it seems to me that Panasonic's cameras may need a couple more generations of improvement in the AWB and JPEG colour department -which is frustrating, because I find  the GX7 so good in other respects.
