Coming to Canon....finally

Since I had started shooting with Pentax in 2004, I had imagined that I would eventually end up either in Nikon or Canon DSLR camp.
Well finally after taking the route Pentax ( Film SLR) -> Kodak (Bridge)->Canon (P&S)->Samsung NX1000 (Mirrorless) , I opened my wallet and provided some $$$ to Canon last Sunday by getting their 700D + 2 lens kit.
I shoot for my fun and personal pleasure and I like landscapes..natural sceneries provide me lot of happiness, Not into shooting distant birds or fast moving bikes and cars. So I am not a sucker for 10 fps and super autofocus with 100 points with 50 cross type points.
Granted I was more impressed by the Sony A68/A6000 as well as the Nikon D5500/7200 camera body capabilities. But my overall considerations were as follows :-
1> Decent and proven in use camera body ( need not be the most advanced technology enthusiast camera body) as long as the following requirements were met.
2> Reasonable assurance of the system/mount being supported for the next 10 years at least. Samsung's abandonment of NX really disappointed me. Left me with an incomplete system and without an upgrade path.
3> Choices of good glasses including primes, macros and WAs that are widely available and do not break the bank. Canon L or Nikon FX lenses are over investment for my needs. The 60mm EF-S macro seems impressive. I do want the Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM . The same DX lens for Nikon would have set me back by 1200 USD. Sorry Nikon.
4> After sales support experience with Canon has been very positive so far. My own experience with my Canon P&S repair and anecdotes from friends has been very positive.
5> Tethered shoots/Remote shutter release support required for bulb modes, time lapses and long exposure absolutely important for me personally.
So I decided to live with the lower DXO scores for ISO and DR and 9 (cross type) AF.
Hopefully I have take the right decision. Look forward to be part of this forum.
Thoughts guys? Lens suggestions welcome.
