Hope this help folks. Happy shooting with your D500.

HOW TO CHANGE MENU BANKS IN NIKON D500

1st STEP : PHOTO SHOOTING MENU PROCEDURES

1 – Go to Photo Shooting Menu and pick the first bank ( A )

2 – Scroll down to File Naming and change it to your desire name. You will allow to enter only 3 letters.

3 – Change every single function in this menu : Ex. : NEF Recording, ISO Sensitivity settings, Picture Control, Color Space, Active D-Lighting, High ISO NR, Vignetting Control, Distortion Control, etc.

4 – You can also change for example the AF Mode Button to your desire AF ( d25, d72, d153, 3d tracking, Group, Single or Auto ) and whatever change you made, will apply to that bank as well.

2nd STEP : CUSTOM SHOOTING MENU PROCEDURES

1 – Custom Setting Bank; make sure the bank letter here match the one you chose in the Photo Shooting Menu. For instance, the default is A.

2 – Change every single function that you want in the AUTOFOCUS MENU ( a )

3 – Change every single function that you want in the METERING EXPOSURE ( b )

4 – Change every single function … in the TIMERS/AE LOCK menu ( c )

5 – Change every single function … in the SHOOTING / DISPLAY menu ( d )

6 – Change every single function … in the BRACKETING / FLASH menu ( e )

7 – Go to f CONTROLS ( f )

8 – Go to f1 ( CUSTOM CONTROL ASSIGNMENT )

8a – Scroll down to fn1 ( this control is divided in two sections )

8b – Leave the first section OFF

8c – Move the cursor to the right and hit the multi-selector center button

8d – Choose PHOTO SHOOTIN MENU BANK

8e – Hit MENU when done

… you first bank has been registered.

3rd STEP : go back to PHOTO SHOOTING MENU again ...

1 – Go to Photo Shooting Menu and pick the second bank ( B )

2 – Make all your changes in this menu for the new bank ( B )

4 STEP : go to CUSTOM SHOOTING MENU again ...

1 – Make sure the Custom Setting Bank is matching the bank letter from the previous step.

2 – Make all your changes again to a, b, c, d and e

3 – Go to f1 and repeat the procedure from 2 STEP

NOTE : You must do the steps from 7 to 8e in order to register/record your changes for that specific bank. If you skip those steps, your changes will not apply.

REPEAT ALL THE STEPS FOR THE REST OF THE BANKS ( four in total )

AFTER YOU FINISH, to switch between banks :

- Press fn1 and keep it pressed …

- Turn the Main Command Dial ( to switch between banks )

- You will not be able to see which bank you are in your viewfinder but in the control panel.
