With regards to loss of detail, that's mostly an issue with RAW processing in Adobe software. It's one of the few real drawbacks of the Fuji system at the moment, as no other software (except Fuji's own, which is crummy) offers official film simulation and lens correction profiles for RAW files, but you lose details compared to other RAW processors, so it's a tough tradeoff.

Personally I find that I can accept Lightroom's slightly worse details in exchange for the better overall look and feel of the images, but I'm a documentary photog who shoots mostly for web, and landscape or nature photographers may well have different needs.

I use Capture 1.  It doesn't offer lens correction but in general the X Prime lenses are exceptionally good so its not a big loss.  With C1 you can get all the film simulations, grain simulation you want.  Also C1 does allow the use of the Nik plug ins which is very nice and you can export directly to other applications.
