Powershell Script to change camera type in Adobe Camera Profiles
1

Hi !

I wrote a little powershell batch script to change the camera type in adobe camera profiles. This is useful if you have a newer camera where there are no camera profiles available but there are camera profiles for a camera with a similar sensor around.

In my case I wanted to be able to use a set of profiles for my Fujifillm X70 which were actually meant for the X100T (same sensor).

You have to have a little bit of powershell knowledge to execute the script, but the rest is actually pretty easy to do.

Feel free to use and even modify the script to your needs. Share any improvements here if you want.

You have to put a copy of your original camera profiles to the path mentioned as $TargetDirin the script. The dcptool.exe goes into the folder mentioned as $dcptooldir.

As $Originalcamera you set the text string to look out for in the camera profile ("X100T" in my case). As $Targetcamera you set the text string that will be replacing the string in $Originalcamera ("X70" in my case).

The script will convert each .dcp file to .xml. Then it parses the text in the xml searching for the string you put in $Originalcamera and replaces it with $Targetcamera.

It then converts the .xml back to .dcp replacing the original file.

I would change the file name to something useful for you and copy it back to the adobe camera profiles folder.

After that you will have the profiles available for the camera type you changed the profiles to. This is useful for new cameras that probably do not have profiles available right now but there are profiles from a camera with the same sensor around.
