How about this, weighing in at 366g? That Sony looks pretty big and heavy now.

I was talking about the same focal length. Plus, your suggestion doesn't have any sort of stabilization.

But your 10-18mm lens is NOT the same focal length as the 7-14mm lens.

Since you already strayed from your goal, why can't simomallen stray slightly in the same direction you just did? And his solution puts you closer to a smaller and cheaper kit.

  • 7-14mm equals 14-28mm EFL
  • 10-18mm equals 15-24mm EFL
  • 9-18mm equals 18-36mm EFL

simomallen's solution gives you the most useful and versatile option, at the lowest cost and weight.

I have no idea where you got the notion that "you need the widest possible lens for architectural photography" because you don't.

The widest T/S lens is made by Canon. Thr  Canon 17mm f/4.0 isn't that far off from 9mm on M4/3 in terms of FOV. Most lenses especially made for this sort of photography are narrower... specifically 24mm, 45mm, 85mm, or 90mm.

Upon reflection, I really feel the 9-18mm lens is a much better option than the 7-14mm lens for this purpose. Especially if size and weight is a factor for you.
