Oly (EM5ii) vs Panny (GX7): multi AF foreground/background?

I've been using GX7 for more than a year and recently bought E-M5 ii, while I like the images produced from E-M5 ii, there is a problem with AF that annoys me. When I take random street photos, I tend to use multi-point auto-focus, for a scene that has people in foreground and buildings / shops on backgrounds, GX7 has a much higher rate of focusing on people (foreground), whereas E-M5 ii nearly always focuses on background.

I'm mainly using 25mm f1.4 lens at F4, so DOF is a problem that incorrect focus would make the main subject blurry. Have anyone noticed this difference? Is it something I did wrong, or, is there a way to make E-M5 ii focus foreground as priority? (I did have face detection on but it's still not enough)

Thanks!
