Re: Olympus Owner Tests GX8 For One Week

Hi, Started serious my photography in 1999, started with coolpix 4400 and later5400 and all of a sudden in 2007, bought a L17-40 canon lens..!!! and to match a conon 30D by the time I learnt the basic tricks, I came across a tiny cam retro styled genius called GF1 (the later GF series were nothing but a bunch of crap) at that time had a few lenses amonst them was a gem 20mm 1.7 prime..I bought against the will of my battalion of die hard cannon and nikon friends even my mentor in photography to buy my first Lumix GF1 with 20mm and 45 mm. this cam gave me picture of the day in National Geographic, 7 daily dozen pictures, 8 editors choice!!!! I later bought the GX1 and gifted to a friend with lieca 25mm. couple of years back got my GX7 and will pick up the GX8 in future ( waiting for it to marinate a bit longer in Photographic community) now I have added just one lens 45-200 just because it was on sale for 150$. I presented my wife a LX5 and she is taking pictures which will put all big names to shame..a camera worth more than the price.
For full frame work I have a Sony alpha 900 with 16-35 Ziess lens and 50mm 1.4f. great camera.
I love Lumix for their predictable handling to achieve what I want..I found out that most of the time tripod solves all problems, when you dont know what is wrong. I take thousands of pictures in a week eat sleep with lumix so I know a bit more than the casual user...and some experts who used a cam for a week and air their comments for which I laugh and keep quiet.
I agree Panasonic people some time forget that there are silent users out there like me looking for quality materials at affordable prises...and aggressive marketing with stupid models some times irritates you...but hay, if its hot get out of the kitchen...
Bottom line Lumix makes some superb cameras..wait watch and buy...you love a camera if you know it inside out..you cant drive a ferari by watching F1...
