I hate to break it to you, but if you are shooting JPG at ISOs above 1600 there is heavy noise reduction applied to skin tones which can give people a waxy look. The second-gen cameras, X-E2/S, X100S/T, X-T1, and X-T10 suffer from this while the first-gen cameras and new sensor Pro2 do not. There is no in-camera setting to turn it off.

My suggestion is to rent one and see if it bothers you, it may not be significant enough for your type of shooting for it to be a problem. Or you may be fine with he way it looks, it cn make some people look more youthful.
